The images in this section are some of Brian’s's contribution to a collaborative photo documentary project about the air in western pennsylvania, and its effects on the quality of life for the people who live here. Organized by Brian, photographed by him and fellow photographers Lynn Johnson, Annie O'Neill, and Scott Goldsmith, "In the Air" examines some of the issues that contribute to the story of air quality in western pennsylvania. Along with writer Reid Frazier, designer Brett Yasko and curator Laura Domencic, the team has published a book, and created an exhibit that opened at the Melwood Galleries of Pittsburgh Filmmakers in September, 2015, and ran through to the end of February, 2016.
This project was generously sponsored by the Heinz Endowments.
